The Cardiff renal Unit participate in both investigator-led/non-commercial (85%) and commercial (15%) studies. The Renal unit is well set-up to conduct this owing to:

Large Nephrology and Transplantation patient catchment population

Laboratory support from the WKRU

Fully staffed and funded Clinical Research facility

Part of the national organ retrieval team allowing for participation in organ perfusion/quality trials
