Dr Meran is an MRC Clinician Scientist and Consultant Nephrologist based at WKRU, Cardiff. Her research interest focus on Hyaluronan matrix biology as applied to progressive renal disease, and specifically on understanding the mechanisms that drive renal fibrosis leading to chronic kidney disease.  She was a member of the SUSTAIN group run by the Academy of Medical Sciences, set up to support and promote women in science. Dr Meran has supervised both nephrology and transplant trainees undergoing PhD studies.
